Throughout my career, I’ve worked for organizations where not every division performed its best.  

I’ve found myself on teams that struggled, but unfortunately, we were often left to fend for ourselves without any support system in place. It was disheartening to face those challenges alone.  

However, my experience completely changed when I joined Insentra as a crew member in the last year. Here, the Train analogy beautifully captures our interconnectedness and the collective effort we put into moving forward as one cohesive unit. It highlights the coordination between different parts of our Insentra teams. Every individual, team and department has a unique role to play in achieving the organization’s overall vision (just like the distinct carriages of a train). 

Every day at Insentra, I witness how the Train metaphor manifests in our teams.  

As a business professional, I’ve learned valuable lessons from negative experiences in the past. When every crew member understands their role and collaborates towards a shared goal, we can achieve remarkable things. Stepping outside comfort zones to help colleagues creates more unity, while also reinforcing our purpose. At Insentra, I see this happen every day.  

We become a formidable force when we lean on each other for assistance across teams (and geographies), share knowledge, and work collaboratively. What one team learns in one location is always shared across all geographies to strengthen our entire company. Being part of an organization that fosters a supportive and collaborative environment allows for professional growth that’s unparalleled in more restrictive settings. 

Now, let’s delve into the different parts of the Train and its significance within our organization.  

The conductor, in the context of our metaphor, plays a critical role in guiding the train along its path. They ensure the train stays on track. Our leaders at Insentra are like conductors. Not only do they provide guidance, but they’re also willing to get their hands dirty and do whatever it takes to keep the train moving forward. Our leaders support their crew without micromanaging. Empowered by the organization, they share the load and steer the train toward success.  

The Train metaphor underscores the importance of teamwork and mutual support. For the train to function effectively, each carriage must perform at its best. If one carriage falters, it affects the entire train’s speed. This is why it’s vital for everyone on our crew to work together and support each other. I’ve witnessed crew members willingly undertake tasks that may seem below their job description to ensure their team achieves its goals.  

At Insentra, we reject the notion of “this is not my job.”  

We foster a positive work culture and nurture a strong sense of teamwork, by leading through example and pitching in to help wherever needed. It’s essential to acknowledge that no one is too good or senior to contribute. Each crew member has a role to play, and every contribution is equally valuable. When we collaborate as a team, we create a positive work environment and achieve more success than we could alone. 

However, reaching this level of teamwork is not without challenges. It requires trust, open communication, and a willingness to prioritize the team’s needs over individual ones. At Insentra, the power of collaboration cannot be overstated. When we embrace the “One Team, One Dream” concept, we conquer any challenge and achieve our goals. We all strive to work together, support one another, and step out of our comfort zones to assist fellow crew members. 

Insentra’s “One Team, One Dream” metaphor holds immense power and should be implemented in every organization. 

We can work together more effectively to achieve our goals, by emphasizing the interconnectedness of different parts of our organization and the need for mutual support. It’s not always easy to embody this principle, but I’m incredibly proud to be part of an organization that truly puts their values into action every day.  Together, we are many, and we can achieve anything we set our minds to.
