Environmental Sustainability

WHERE WE'RE AT
At Insentra, we recognize the significant environmental impact of our operations and our duty to reduce our carbon footprint. As an IT channel services partner, we know the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector contributes approximately 4% of global CO2 emissions and consumes around 7% of global electricity, according to the 2023 report from The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
As a response, we are minimising and being transparent with our emissions, reducing waste and improving energy efficiency wherever possible.
We continually explore new initiatives to lessen the environmental impact of our daily operations. Our efforts are aimed at ongoing improvement in various areas, such as optimising office space and equipment usage, establishing policies for business travel, reducing and recycling waste, sourcing eco-friendly products and minimising the use of disposable items. Additionally, by conducting most of our meetings online, we are able to limit our travel-related emissions.
OUR CARBON ACCOUNTING JOURNEY
Insentra’s leadership is invested in taking positive action for the environment, from ensuring our office spaces had reusable dinnerware in 2017 to running Plastic-Free initiatives in 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we prioritised sustainability by opting for biodegradable masks over plastic and sustainable options while adhering to health and safety protocols.
In 2023, we took our first official step to taking a proactive approach to climate action by starting our carbon accounting journey. By measuring our carbon emissions, Insentra has a better understanding of where we can make our biggest impact on reducing emissions. This commitment to sustainability enables us to implement effective strategies, promote environmental stewardship and drive meaningful change within our industry.
The annual GHG emission accounting report enables the organization to benchmark performance indicators and evaluate progress over time. It keeps us accountable for the amount of resources we consume and carbon we release. Making our carbon data publicly available also ensures transparency to our stakeholders, giving everyone visibility into our consumption and emissions.
As we progress on our sustainability journey, we will be setting specific annual objectives towards achieving our 2050 Net-Zero Target.
Our near- and long-term targets have been approved by SBTi. We’re proud to announce we have committed to reducing scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions. Insentra commits to reach net-zero by 2050. As part of this, Insentra commits to reduce scope 1+2+3 emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2022 base year.
