IGEL Insights: The New Monitoring, Security, and Analytics Platform for Your IGEL Deployment

Australia | IGEL Insights: The New Monitoring, Security, and Analytics Platform for Your IGEL Deployment

From initial announcement to real-world preview. How IGEL Insights is delivering purpose-built visibility across user experience, security, utilisation, and sustainability for every IGEL customer, regardless of size or vertical.

Flying Blind in the Modern Enterprise

Picture this: you’re the pilot of a commercial aircraft cruising at 35,000 feet. The engines are running smoothly, the crew is trained and ready, and the flight plan is filed. Instrument readings are coming in from every system on board altitude, airspeed, fuel flow, cabin pressure but the weather radar is dark. You have data, but no picture of what lies ahead.

Many IT organisations are navigating in exactly this way today. According to research from Forrester, 74% of enterprises say their goal is to take a data-driven approach, yet only 29% are truly successful at connecting analytics to action. Reports pile up, dashboards multiply, and teams are perpetually busy, but are they moving in the right direction? Without the right visibility, even experienced decision-makers are forced to rely on instinct instead of insight.

The data problem is not about quantity it’s about connection.

Visibility isn’t just about collecting information; it’s about connecting the right dots in real time. When you can clearly see how performance, people, and strategy align, you move from reaction to precision from surviving uncertainty to steering with purpose.

IGEL Insights is built to change that as it – giving IT teams exactly what they have been missing:

  • Real-time, actionable intelligence across endpoint performance, security posture, and user experience all from a lightweight collection mechanism built directly into IGEL OS.
  • Data flows to a customer-owned platform with no custom agents, no third-party dependencies, and no added attack surface.
  • Endpoint visibility that works with your existing workflows, not against them.

With IGEL Insights, IT teams can move from reactive firefighting to proactive management, identifying issues before users are impacted, demonstrating compliance without disruptive audits, and making evidence-based decisions.

What IGEL Insights Delivers

IGEL Insights provides two complementary access points, serving both day-to-day IT administrators and the broader security and partner ecosystem.

1. Purpose-built visualisations for IT admins and help desk staff

The IGEL Insights web console is designed for the people who manage IGEL estates every day. Admins and help desk staff gain visibility across the entire fleet through purpose-built dashboards covering:

  • DEX and security scores for both devices and users, making it immediately clear where to focus effort, with the ability to drill down into granular detail
  • Real-time and historical data visualisations to draw meaningful conclusions and integrate within existing workflows
  • Sustainability and utilisation metrics to optimise operations and reduce environmental impact
  • A powerful search feature to locate what is relevant when it is most needed
  • IGEL suggestions and best practices built from years of expert hands-on knowledge delivered without alert fatigue

Crucially, the focus spans distinct dimensions of IGEL estate health: user experience, security, utilisation, and sustainability giving organisations a genuinely holistic view rather than another siloed monitoring dashboard.

2. IGEL Insights API: deep intelligence for the partner ecosystem

For security teams and technology partners requiring deeper integration, the IGEL Insights API exposes 100% of captured telemetry and management data. This makes it available for correlation with DEX platforms, SIEM, SOAR, Threat Management, and Cyber-Physical System Monitoring solutions without deploying any additional agent software on endpoints.

IGEL Field CTO Emanuel Pirker summarised the vision at Now & Next Frankfurt: the goal is turning data into decisions, by delivering visibility, control, and optimisation, with full ecosystem integration. Critically, IGEL has been explicit that Insights is not positioned to compete with the standalone monitoring and DEX platforms its partners offer — it is a foundational data layer, a subset of what the broader IGEL ecosystem delivers, designed to make those partner tools more powerful rather than replace them.

The Partners Already Involved

IGEL Insights has not been built in isolation. Three IGEL Ready partners, Omnissa, HP, and ControlUp, have been directly involved in shaping the platform’s data model and API. As IGEL Field CTO Emanuel Pirker confirmed at Now & Next Frankfurt, the goal is turning data into decisions through full ecosystem integration with Insights acting as a foundational data layer that amplifies partner platforms rather than competing with them.

ControlUp Omnissa HP

• Native, agentless IGEL OS telemetry — no SSH required

• No custom UMS configuration

• Real-time endpoint performance profiling

• OS version comparison across the fleet

• VDI root cause analysis within ControlUp ONE
• Omnissa Intelligence integrated with IGEL Insights

• Device health, app performance, and user experience visibility

• IGEL telemetry natively inside Workspace ONE Intelligence dashboards

• Alongside existing UEM and VDI data
• Hardware-level telemetry beyond OS visibility

• Device health, power consumption and battery status

• Lifecycle data fed into the Insights sustainability dashboard

• Exposed via API for sustainability reporting programmes

Why This Matters for Zero Trust

Zero Trust architecture depends on continuous, contextual verification and you cannot verify what you cannot see. IGEL Insights closes a critical visibility gap that has historically limited how confidently organisations could enforce a Zero Trust posture at the endpoint.

IGEL Field CTO John Walsh has been explicit about this trajectory: Insights capabilities are designed to expand beyond DEX to actively inform Zero Trust environments. When IGEL OS telemetry flows into partner platforms via the Insights API, feeding into Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange, Palo Alto Networks’ threat management stack, or Omnissa’s conditional access policies organisations can enforce posture-based access based on real endpoint behaviour, not assumed compliance.

The Business Case: Reducing Cost and Risk Together

The operational value of IGEL Insights extends well beyond security. For IT leaders managing large, distributed fleets, the platform translates directly into reduced support costs and improved uptime.

A recent IGEL study across 140 enterprise deployments found that organisations using IGEL’s immutable platform reduced IT and operations costs by 62%, saving nearly $900,000 annually — in part by gaining the kind of endpoint visibility that IGEL Insights now delivers natively.

With Insights, IT teams gain the data foundation needed to optimise remote work environments, reduce mean-time-to-resolution for endpoint issues, demonstrate compliance without disruptive audits, and make the case for sustainability improvements with hard utilisation data.

Included at no extra cost

IGEL Insights is an included entitlement for customers on Enterprise, Healthcare, or Government Editions — no additional purchase required. All customers, regardless of deployment size or vertical, can benefit from day one.

Targeted for GA in H2 2026 — How to Get Involved Now

Based on current estimates, IGEL Insights is targeted for general availability in H2 2026. In the meantime, the platform is progressing through a structured preview programme, and there are several ways to get hands-on ahead of the public release.

Customers and partners interested in early access can join the Exclusive Preview Group an opportunity to explore the platform before GA and directly shape the initial release and roadmap priorities. IGEL is actively incorporating preview participant feedback into the product, making this a genuine co-development opportunity rather than a passive waitlist.

For those attending IGEL Now & Next Miami 2026 (30 March – 2 April), Technical Deep Dive sessions on IGEL Insights will give attendees the chance to see live integrations, explore partner API demonstrations, and connect directly with the product and engineering teams before GA.

For a preview of what to expect, watch the IGEL Insights User Interface demo video on YouTube it covers the dashboard experience, DEX and security score views, and the visualisation approach that will ship with the GA release.
