In April 2021 143 cyber security incidents led to 1,098,897,134 breached records across healthcare, manufacturing, Government, education, pharmaceuticals and many more.
IBM’s Security 2020 Edition of the Cost of a Data Breach Report states the financial impact of data breaches in Australia is roughly $2 million less than the global average. More than half of the breaches in Australia were caused by malicious attacks at 56%, with system glitches and human error tying for the second-highest cause at 22% each.
If these figures concern you (and they should), Microsoft has a few solutions available to combat and protect your organization and users from cyber-attacks which you can implement right away. Introducing, Microsoft 365 Defender – a unified pre- and post-breach enterprise defence suite which natively coordinates:
- Detection
- Prevention
- Investigation and
- Response
Across endpoints, identities, email and applications to provide integrated protection against sophisticated attacks.
While you’ve heard me talk about security before, I’ll continue to do so long as the threat of cyber-attacks remain real. If you have invested in the Microsoft 365 E5 license SKUs or are intending to upgrade to E5, watch my new FastTrack update where I discuss the Microsoft 365 Defender stack and how each product can be used to protect your organization.
