WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Wintel Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about IT infrastructure, security, and cloud technologies, who is looking to grow their career as a top-tier engineer. You will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining both on-premises and cloud-based IT environments, ensuring the security and stability of IT infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Support: Provide comprehensive support for IT infrastructure, including on-premises environment (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows infrastructure)
  • Incident and Request Management: Efficiently handle incidents, requests, and changes using ServiceNow and Planner Board tasks, ensuring timely resolution and exceptional service delivery.
  • Risk Management: Operate within a risk-averse environment, understanding the impact of changes in enterprise settings, particularly when dealing with sensitive data.
  • Automation and Scripting: Utilize PowerShell and other scripting tools to automate tasks, enhance efficiency, and improve infrastructure management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal and partner engineers, fostering strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends, particularly in Microsoft products, cloud technologies, and security protocols, to ensure the infrastructure remains cutting-edge.

LOCATION

Sydney, Australia. This role requires onsite work.  

EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

If you can demonstrate strong experience of the following, we would love to chat to you: 

  • Technical Expertise:
    • A minimum of 3+ years in an enterprise Information Technology (IT) environment.
    • Proficiency in supporting on-premises infrastructure, particularly Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server environments.
    • In-depth knowledge of VMWare, with a preference for experience with the current versions.
    • Familiarity and experience working in risk-averse environments, particularly in enterprises handling sensitive data and change processes.
    • Strong generalist experience with Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft365, MS Server, SCCM, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS), Teams, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory.
    • Awareness of Microsoft Office 365 Security features, Azure ATP, DLP, AIP, Windows Defender ATP, Azure AD, and Azure AD PIM.
    • Competency in PowerShell and other scripting languages, with the ability to understand and apply scripting for automation and management tasks.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
    • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of an organisation.
    • A good communicator who can articulate project parameters, scope of work, and technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work Approach & Problem-Solving:
    • Comfortable multitasking and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Additional Skills:
    • Knowledge of Nutanix and VXrail technologies.
    • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
