Introduction

Robert Buktenica: Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of The Late Night Brew where we talk the brews first and then we get around to the business after the fact. I’m Robert Buktenica, also known as Buk, and tonight with me on the show once again to continue the FastTrack series is Hambik where we’re gonna answer what is in scope and what to expect from an engagement. Hambik, welcome back buddy.

Hambik Matvosian: Thanks again for having me back again, Buk. Yeah. Always enjoy your company. So looking forward to this session.

Robert: Exactly, and let’s be real here. You only care because you get that list of brews to try out when you finally hit the shores.

Hambik: Of course, I’m not gonna lie absolutely, given the time differences, yeah, I just put that into the bank for next time.

The Brew

Robert: Exactly so you know the drill on the brews. What are you having with me this stay?

Hambik: No, no, considering it’s almost 10:00 AM here in Sydney. I’m on my, I would say, probably my seventh shot of coffee already. So that’s what I’m having today.

Robert: Fair, fair. Hey, it’s a brew. I’ll take it. And it’s popular brew that.

Hambik: Exactly.

Robert: I am having a, this ones way more standard, German Paulaner Hefe-Weizen. So, like you go from Munich, I drank a lot of this when I visited Munich. So it’s nice to have a little refresher.

Hambik: Add that to the bank.

Robert: Exactly. Uh, Augustine, or in my opinion, is my favorite. However, Paulaner is pretty good.

Hambik: Yep.

What is in scope/is included for FastTrack?

Robert: Now getting to it, what is in scope/is included for FastTrack?

Hambik: Alright, so when an organisation comes across the IQ consultants like myself, when they get engaged, we generally provide customers with all the remote guidance around getting them on board to that M365 service, we provide them with or we can conduct technical workshops, business enablement workshops, we provide resources now whether that be straight publicly available resources through Microsoft, or whether it be FastTrack developed specific resources that we can help with that we can provide.

Robert: Yeah.

Hambik: There’s also some deployment wizards that Microsoft has recently made available through to customers accessible from their admin centre, so that’s just generally a followed up bouncy ball type wizard to take them through the on boarding of that specific workload. And ideally, it’s not just providing the resources and telling the customer to go digest and come back to us with questions. We’ll still follow up with additional sessions once we have sent through all the documentation just to make sure they’ve understood what we’ve sent through with the specific points within the documents that they need to focus on.

So providing them as much guidance so they don’t feel that we’re just dumping them with a whole bunch of material and they have to try and digest it all on their own.

Robert: Right, for sure. Nothing worse than that. That “here you go”, and then you walk away.

Hambik: Exactly. I mean, it’s a lot of, it’s a lot of material, it’s a lot of words and just helping them sort of understand where the focus needs to be.

Robert: Exactly, and we all know words are hard.

What can organisations expect from a typical FastTrack engagement?

Robert: So I’m with that, a typical FastTrack engagement: What can organisations expect from one?

Hambik: During what we do is outside of the workshops that we scheduled we’ll set up a regular cadence with the customer. Now depending on timelines for the customers, timelines could be a weekly call or a fortnightly call, and it’s, I mean, we treat it just as a touch point to see how things have been progressing, discussing the challenges the customer may have faced during that week. And we kind of provide them, I guess you could call it homework, to say make sure you do these tasks that we said, we go through the various phases that we at through the FastTrack journey, and sort of just to have that open forum where the customer can ask any questions they have and give us that status update so then we can work out what the next steps look like.

It’s not necessarily a, you know, for customers “got no updates because other priorities have taken over that week or that fortnight”, you know, we can always postpone, but it’s just to have that ongoing communication so the customer knows that they’re not alone throughout this journey.

Robert: Right, right. That touch base and that opportunity to ask the dumb questions as it were.

Hambik: No such thing is dumb questions, but yeah.

Robert: Ohh, I’d say the only dumb questions is the one I asked so. Yeah, you were waiting for me to say something else. I know you are.

 Hambik: Not saying anything.

Robert: And on that note, unfortunately that does wrap up our time today. I hope everyone enjoyed this episode and had something good to drink. Hambo, once again, thank you for joining me.

Hambik: No, thank you again mate.

Robert: As always, if you have any questions/concerns, please do keep in touch with us. All of our info is below. Until next time. Take care. Cheers mate.

Hambik: Thank you again mate. Cheers.
