Joining me, once again, is Jon Hazelden. Jon, welcome back.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan Hazelden:<\/strong> Hi, Buck, glad to be back, it&#8217;s been a few weeks.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong>\u202fI know, it&#8217;s been a while. It&#8217;s terrible. It&#8217;s been far too long, in my opinion. Now, before we get into today&#8217;s episode, diving into Defender for Cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"hlight2\">The Brew<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong>\u202f You know the drill very well by now, Sir, what brew are you having with me?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong>\u202fThis time, I&#8217;ve gone back to my trustee, Angelo Poretti, Italian lager. It&#8217;s basically all I drink, but it&#8217;s my go-to.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>I can&#8217;t knock knowing what you like and sticking with it. Not everyone can be crazy like me and go, &#8220;Oh, that sounds different.&#8221; As such, I of course have a new beer, it is Guava Cart. It&#8217;s wheat with guava and passion fruit. Actually, quite nice. Not as passion fruity as I would like, but yeah.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan:\u202f<\/strong>Sounds like a fruit drink.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>You know, it&#8217;s more wheat beer than fruit.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong>\u202fOkay.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong>\u202fI do have one, maybe I&#8217;ll drink it on the next one. It&#8217;s interestingly blueberry forward and then ends at wheat. It&#8217;s almost disconcerting.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong>\u202fWow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"hlight3\">How can Defender secure your Cloud or 365 tenant?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong>\u202fAnyway, so how can Defender secure your Cloud or secure your 365 tenant?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong>\u202fWith\u202fDefender for Cloud, in terms of Microsoft,\u202fDefender for Cloud, it&#8217;s really for your Cloud workloads, specifically, Microsoft Azure, but also covers multicloud, so Google, AWS, et cetera.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s really focused on Cloud workload, so that might be virtual machines. In Azure, that might be container instances, that might be web applications, databases, storage, et cetera. Those are the things that it is able to protect, but it also covers hybrid scenarios so you can also protect your on-premise servers with\u202fDefender for Cloud.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like in the real world, a lot of companies, a lot of organisations would be in a hybrid environment, right? Like on-prem, they&#8217;re moving to Azure. They have some footprints on Azure workloads including servers and other past servers, potentially.\u202fDefender for Cloud is a way to protect those on-prem servers and the Cloud at the same time using one sort of unified management portal.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>Now, for those on-prem servers, are there any, and maybe this is getting too into the weeds for this, are there any boundaries? I guess it might be easier of what&#8217;s not available to be secured with those agents.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong>\u202fMostly, it&#8217;s from premise servers, also\u202fDefender. Well, Defender for identity integrates with on-premise domain controllers to provide that kind of hybrid identity solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"hlight4\">What are some of the benefits of adopting Defender for Cloud?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong>\u202fAll right, awesome. Now, that&#8217;s a really, really big potential security blanket, as it were.\u202f And I know the question sitting is, what are some of the benefits, what&#8217;s some deep dive benefits of adopting, especially\u202fDefender for Cloud, and the potential far reaching?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong> Yes, I guess the main benefit, really, is just to have the single pane of glass, that unified management portal where you can view all your workloads. One of the other key features is\u202fDefender for Cloud does integrate with\u202fDefender for Endpoint.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may have on-premise servers that are onboarded to\u202fDefender for Endpoint that can integrate with\u202fDefender for Cloud. With\u202fDefender for Cloud, you also get enhanced capabilities depending on the licensing plan that you have, P1 or P2.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong>\u202fNaturally.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan: <\/strong>Yes, of course.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>Microsoft doing there awesome thing of tiered services which everyone&#8217;s going to a subscription model. I can&#8217;t bash\u202fMicrosoft in it of itself.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>Yes.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert:<\/strong> All right, well, that wraps up our time today.
