This was needed a prerequisite for a Microsoft 365 migration. This is a relatively straightforward process which I will detail below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"padding-bottom: 15px;margin-bottom: 30px;margin-top: 40px;border-bottom: 1px solid #F37237;color: #F37237\"><span>ADD A NEW UPN SUFFIX TO ADDS<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new UPN suffix needs to be available within ADDS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do this log on to an ADDS domain controller<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open Server Manager<\/li><li>Tools &gt; Active Directory Domains and Trusts<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"543\" height=\"222\" src=\"https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8667\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image.png 543w, https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image-300x123.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 543px) 100vw, 543px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Within Active Directory Domains and Trust, right click Active Directory Domains and Trusts &gt; Properties<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"666\" height=\"441\" src=\"https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8668\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image-1.png 666w, https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image-1-300x199.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 666px) 100vw, 666px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open UPN Suffixes &gt; Add your new UPN Suffix &gt; Add &gt; Apply<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"632\" height=\"706\" src=\"https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8669\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image-2.png 632w, https:\/\/www.insentragroup.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/03\/image-2-269x300.png 269w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 632px) 100vw, 632px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This new domain suffix is now available in ADDS. Now we need to add it to the users. My recommendation is to add these to a specific group of users, or OU as testing to ensure technical validation of your solution before you apply to everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"padding-bottom: 15px;margin-bottom: 30px;margin-top: 40px;border-bottom: 1px solid #F37237;color: #F37237\"><span>CHANGE UPN SUFFIX FOR ALL USERS<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The update to users can be done using PowerShell. In the below example I have targeted a specific OU. Please feel free to update the values to suit your environment.
